Michael B. Halpin, DO 
Redeemer Health Internal Medicine Residency Program Director

 

Dr. Michael B. Halpin, Redeemer Health Internal Medicine Residency Program, Director: Since completing residency training in 2019, Dr. Halpin has been deeply involved in Graduate Medical Education. Through teaching rounds and Morning Report, he has been involved in the didactics for medical students, residents, fellows, PA and NP students. Dr. Halpin holds adjunct faculty positions at several medical schools and with an NP program. In addition to working as a Hospitalist at Redeemer Health, he is also an instructor at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), teaching case-based clinical courses as well as physical exam technique courses. During his residency and at each institution where Dr. Halpin has practiced, he has been recognized for dedication and aptitude in teaching medicine. He is an advocate for resident wellness and holistic training, with an emphasis on creating confident and compassionate physicians who can function in a variety of healthcare settings.

The GME Internal Medicine program at Holy Redeemer Hospital offers the following amenities and conveniences:

At Holy Redeemer Hospital, all your core medical rotations will occur at a single clinical site, enhancing your overall learning experience. 

Our hospital boasts a new GME office and renovated spaces with Night Float call/sleep rooms, kitchenettes, and resident workstations, fostering a conducive environment for both work and rest. We will also soon be offering an on-site resident continuity clinic, promising further integration and development opportunities for our residents.

How often will I be in the clinic? Redeemer Health's Internal Medicine Residency Program is set up as a 4+1 schedule. After a 4-week rotation, you will have one week (consisting of eight half days) in the clinic.


How often is night call? Our Internal Medicine Residency Program uses a "night float" system instead of a night call.


How far to the nearest metropolitan/city area? Redeemer Health is situated just 2 miles from Philadelphia County and less than 20 miles from the metropolitan/city center (referred to as Center City, Philadelphia).
